Saudi Arabia agrees to ease Yemen blockade, facing mass starvation warnings

“Around seven million people are living on the brink of famine and four million have no access to clean water.  Save the Children estimates that even before the blockade began around 130 children were dying each day and that more than 50,000 will have died by the end of 2017.  The Saudi-led military coalition has also been bombing the Houthis for more than two years in support of the internationally-recognised Yemeni government, but there is no end in sight to the fighting.  Both the US and UK have supported the Saudi-led coalition with logistics and intelligence, despite accusations that the coalition was guilty of war crimes for bombing civilian targets.”

Why Didn’t “60 Minutes” Mention The U.S. Is Fueling the Yemen Conflict?

“The program featured imagery of starving children and interviews with displaced people, all obtained after Saudi Arabia blocked ’60 Minutes’ from entering the country.  The program did not once mention that Saudi Arabia is a U.S. ally, and that U.S. support is essential for the Saudi campaign to continue.  For two-and-a-half years, the U.S. government has backed Saudi Arabia’s intervention in Yemen every step of the way. The United States has dispatched warships to reinforce the blockade. It has refueled Saudi planes, sent the Saudi military targeting intelligence, and resupplied them with tens of billions of dollars worth of bombs.”

US aiding Saudi ‘war crimes’ in Yemen: Congressman

“Save the Children says more than 50,000 youngsters are believed to have already lost their lives so far this year.  The organisation has said a blockade by the Saudi-led coalition fighting Iran-backed Houthi rebels will almost certainly make things worse.  The World Health Organisation, UNICEF and the World Food Programme said seven million people are on the brink of famine.  More than 10,000 people have been killed in the conflict since March 2015 and three million have been displaced.”

Clinton aide: 1998 Iraq bombing was impeachment distraction [2016]

Senator highlights U.S.-backed war crimes in unauthorized Yemen war

“The brutal war in Yemen has killed well over 10,000 people since Saudi Arabia began bombing the country in 2015, but in recent months cholera has been killing people much faster than bombs.  Saudi Arabia, led by its headstrong Crown Prince, Mohammed bin Salman, is hoping to use disease and starvation to force the country to surrender to its terms, a strategy that is on its face a war crime.  Murphy’s comments came a day after the House of Representatives voted 366-30 to passing a non-binding resolution that said the U.S. role in the war had not been authorized by Congress.”
