G. Edward Griffin on Globalism, Collectivism and the ‘Right Principles’

“I think the most important thing we can do today is to recognize that our opponents are not evil because of their political party affiliation. They’re not our opponents because they’re evil or because they have this, that or the other thing. It’s because they have an ideal, a philosophy that they’re following. People mistakenly often just attack them because of the party labels – ‘Get rid of him. He’s a Democrat!’ or ‘He’s a Republican. Get rid of him!’ Who’s going to replace him? Somebody just exactly the same, with the same mindset. So it does no good to focus on personalities and names. We have to rise above that and focus on the ideas these individuals are pursuing.”

FT ‘Explains’ the Decline and Fall of the West

the-daily-bell-top-logo61

“The FT article contains a threat. Here it is: ‘Another decade of western economic malaise – or, God forbid, another financial crisis – is likely to see more radical solutions and politicians emerging.’ That’s how the article ends, and in our estimation the article was written to provide this conclusion. The whole idea of destabilizing the West is quite possibly to create enough chaos to offer globalist solutions. Part of the destabilization will be the implementation of false-flag political organizations and ‘fascist’ sociopolitical solutions that will be used to justify aggressive internationalism. This is the same playbook that was used – on a trial basis – in the 1930s and 1940s.”

Reuters: Why Modern Society Must Do Away With Privacy ASAP

the-daily-bell-top-logo61

“Think of government as a stern father or an understanding confessor. Reveal your most intimate secrets. It won’t hurt. And it will help to forget that governments slaughtered something like 200 million people in the 20th century.  We’re well on our way to comprehensive authoritarianism throughout the West, and yet still the world’s bankers launch their promotional memes.  Homeland Security buys billions of rounds of hollow point bullets but this Reuters editorial wants to convince us that we ought to trust government with our deepest and most personal secrets because otherwise human progress itself will be jeopardized.”

Surveillance State? Washington Post Explains It … Not!

the-daily-bell-top-logo61

“We’ll repeat the salient fact: ‘All U.S. cell phones are required to have some type of location-based technology to enable an emergency dispatch center to find a 911 caller’s real-time location and number. Thus, geographic location tracking capabilities have been integrated into all U.S. cell phones, as well as several international ones.’ So, you see, you don’t have to go live in a cave. You simply have to figure out who carried out an intergenerational plan to bug every single electronic device you own – and then politely (or not) ask them to stop. The Washington Post apparently wants us to believe the Surveillance Society is a kind of natural disaster. But it’s not.”

Retaining Their Freedom Is the Real Problem US Citizens Face

the-daily-bell-top-logo61

“As an all-encompassing Leviathan is created incrementally and relentlessly, we are directed to discuss budgetary matters that will actually have little impact on larger authoritarian trends. The article should be asking, who will want to live in the United States – solvent or not – if the larger issues of a nascent Surveillance State remain unrectified? How is it that Homeland Security buys 1.5 billion hollow point bullets and never properly explains the purchase? How is it that the West continues to wage unpopular and unnecessary wars? How is it that taxes and regulations pour out of Western governments with no possibility of diminution? These are the big issues facing the US and the West.”

Democrats and Republicans Have Joined Forces Against You

“The hidden consensus amongst the U.S. political elite on matters of national security is a matter worthy of detailed investigation and reporting. So is their consensus on the failed drug war, mass incarcerations, asset forfeiture and many other matters. What are we to make of the fact that Senator Feinstein’s husband, Richard C. Blum, is heavily invested in EG&G Technical Services – a leading contractor to the federal defense and intelligence sectors? Or that congressman Mike Rogers (R-MI), chairman of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, has received almost half a million dollars in campaign contributions from defense contractors – despite having no serious challengers?”

Skewed Rhetoric On Metals And Markets Obscures Best Plays

“The currency chief for Goldman Sachs (GS) last week decreed another lower target price for gold. Jeffrey Currie said the precious metal now is worth $1000/oz. and may sink to $800. He has followed up this tarot reading by saying it was a ‘slam dunk’ to sell gold. GS guidance was echoed by the astrologists at Credit Suisse who YTD have issued almost monthly downgrades on gold. Those investing in the sector must understand that until PM sentiment from major banks and media changes, they will continue to suffer disproportionately on most red days despite strong fundamentals, especially for silver.”

The New Boogieman: Military Grade Weapons

“The phase ‘military-grade’ expands the scope of the weapons it covers to include most any firearm, and even knives. A cap and ball revolver can be described as a ‘military-grade’ weapon. A fixed blade knife can be described as a ‘military-grade weapon’ too. Heck, militaries have used .22 rifles in training before thus making the ominous .22 caliber bolt action rifle a ‘military-grade weapon’.  Over the years gun-grabbers have tried to demonize all firearms and their owners through the use of carefully chosen words and phrases. When new phrases such as ‘military-grade weapons’ emerge, you can bet your next paycheck some gun-grabbing focus group came up with it.”

Who Needs an Official State Media When We’ve Got CNN?

nodrop6

“In a recent Esquire column, Charles Pierce recalled presidential historian George Reedy’s prediction years ago that so-called ‘shield laws,’ which protect reporters against criminal prosecution for not revealing their sources, would involve de facto government licensing of the press. After all, the law would have to define who qualified as a ‘journalist’ for purposes of such legal protection.  And guess what? US Senator Dianne Feinstein just bore him out. She ‘insisted on limiting the legal protection to ‘real reporters’ and not, she said, a 17-year-old with his own website.'”

Obama’s NSA review panel: An arm of the national security apparatus

What did the Associated Press expect with the latest ‘hey, we’ll investigate ourselves’ project? The AP is shocked, shocked to find that the supposedly independent review of the NSA’s practices has started to look a lot like an operation run by its parent organization; that would be the same James Clapper who misled Congress on the nature of the NSA’s activities, and then later claimed to have been as transparent as possible.  Ron Wyden had actually given Clapper a full day’s notice on the question, but rather than ask for a classified briefing, offered a false denial instead.  Now he’s basically running the investigation into himself, but we knew that already.  The AP is just catching up.”
