“Former Rep. Ron Paul, (R-TX), provides his take on the Fed and what a taper could mean for the future of the economy and markets.”

“How can the U.S. be both fighting Al Qaeda, and at the same time aiding them to overthrow Assad in Syria? Well, this isn’t the first time that Ron Paul has posed this type of question. Let’s rewind back to 1983, when the bogeyman was The Soviet Union. Here’s Ron Paul speaking on the House floor, asking an almost identical question: ‘Why are we engaged in military action against the Communists in which American lives are being lost when we cannot take the simple action of cutting off the flow of money to the Communists? For decades we have pursued this immoral course of action, asking American men to die fighting an enemy the American government has financed.'”

“To the neoconservatives, American exceptionalism has nothing to do with civil liberties, personal freedom, limited government, free markets, and the like. It is only the exceptionalism of the US sword, going abroad to seek monsters to destroy. It is only the exceptionalism of military might to force the world to follow US dictates. Putin pushed back against this kind of false and ahistoric American exceptionalism and, likely because his argument made so much sense to the average American who is sick of war and aggression overseas, the neoconservatives suffered fits of convulsions and intestinal distress.”
“The Internet has made it easier than ever for parents to homeschool. Because of my interest in promoting alternatives to government-controlled education, this month I am launching my own homeschool curriculum. The Ron Paul Curriculum consists of a rigorous program of study in history, economics, mathematics, and the physical and natural sciences. Older students will also have the opportunity to gain experience creating and running their own on-line business. Frequent written assignments will ensure that students have the maximum opportunity to develop strong communication skills. Students and parents are invited to participate in on-line interactive forums.”

“Despite Obama’s assurances that U.S. military action won’t involve ‘boots on the ground,’ Paul warned about the human cost of ‘so many more lives lost than [lawmakers] are anticipating. They think they can predict these things, but there is a cost – the cost of life and limb, the cost of freedoms at home because of a war atmosphere.’ ‘Just because one cruise missile might cost one-and-a-half million dollars –there are a lot more expenses involved’ in any military strike, said Ron Paul. ‘It will be easy [for costs] to go much, much higher.’ He compared the difference in costs in the Iraq War: ‘It was estimated to cost $60 billion – and it turned out to be into the trillions.'”

“Neocons still don’t utter peep about blowback from U.S. foreign entanglements. They will never write or speak one word about it. However, with the current smackdown that the American public is delivering to Obama on his drive to war in Syria, at least one Neocon fears ‘blowback’ of a domestic sort. Wehner isn’t speaking about ‘blowback’ from foreigners (He wouldn’t dare.) He’s referring to the non-interventionist voices in the U.S. that have grown by leaps and bounds since Ron Paul’s campaign. The American public waking up, and not remaining in a woozy stupor as the war machine tramples on, is the type of ‘blowback’ that Neocons do understand.”
