Russia warns of ‘war’ if UN plans to cut oil to North Korea are carried out

“Russia’s ambassador to North Korea has warned that a United Nations attempt to cut all oil supplies to the rogue nation could spark a global conflict. Last month, the U.N. Security Council voted to cut 90 percent of petroleum exports to North Korea, something the militarized state referred to as “‘an act of war.’ The U.S. has repeatedly accused both China and Russia of defying these sanctions and covertly providing their neighbor with oil supplies at sea, something which both of them have denied.”

US Media Shops North Korea, Russia ‘Doomsday’ Nuke Narratives

Not long after last year’s ‘Nuclear Posture Review’, in which top American officials insisted world peace depended upon a massive nuclear rearmament program, and after two major nuclear strike false alarms in Hawaii and Japan, US media is now instilling further panic with two new rumors: that of a long-range North Korean missile strike, and that of a Russian ‘doomsday’ nuclear torpedo attack on the US coastlines.

This could be surmised from the nuclear paradox.  It tells us that nuclear armament incentivizes the nuclear armament of existing geopolitical competitors, while at the same time incentivizing interventionism against non-nuclear states through increasing their perceived costs of resistance.

The beneficiaries in this seemingly zero-sum game?  Arms manufacturers, of course, but also US uranium producers, who in a complete coincidence are currently agitating for protection from foreign competition.

Tech firms let Russia analyze software widely used by U.S. government

Russian authorities say the reviews are necessary to detect flaws that could be exploited by hackers.  But those same products protect some of the most sensitive areas of the U.S government, including the Pentagon, NASA, the State Department, the FBI and the intelligence community, against hacking by sophisticated cyber adversaries like Russia.”

Yes, Hawaii emergency management stuck a password on a sticky note

“The worsitude comes in the flimsiest but all too familiar of forms: a yellow sticky note, spotted in an Associated Press photo from July, at the agency’s headquarters at Diamond Head, bearing a password and stuck to a computer screen. While there’s a press photographer in the room, obviously.  Richard Rapoza, a spokesman for HI-EMA, told Hawaii News Now that the password is authentic and was actually used for an ‘internal application.'”

Hawaii missile alert standdown delayed by forgotten log-in
