“There were popular referenda that amount to nullification, we’re not going obey this particular law and people vote and agree not to do it.  It can be the legislature.  You have a special convention you call.  Then the issue is we’ve nullified but what does that actually mean?  What it would have to mean is the people of the state would be willing to stand by what they’ve done.  I rather suspect that when we’re dealing with issues like the Second Amendment, which, even more than the Obamacare issue, the Second Amendment and the perception that Washington is hostile to the Second Amendment has done more to alert people to nullification than anything else.”

CNN highlights how marijuana prohibition harms children

“‘Think of the children,’ is usually the rallying cry of opponents of drug legalization. But CNN on Thursday highlighted how marijuana prohibition was actually harmful to some children who were denied the potentially life-saving drug. In a segment on The Lead, CNN host Jake Tapper interviewed a man whose young daughter suffers from a rare form of epilepsy that causes her to have daily seizures. The condition has been treated with a special strain of marijuana, but the young girl is currently prohibited from using it under New Jersey state law. Brian Wilson recently confronted Gov. Chris Christie (R) about the issue.”

Missouri lawmaker wants ‘personal exemption’ from Obamacare birth control mandate

“A Catholic state legislator from Missouri has filed suit with the U.S. District Court in St. Louis asking that his family be exempted from the contraception coverage mandate section of the Affordable Care Act, also known as ‘Obamacare.’ According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, state Rep. Paul Wieland (R) said that the provision, which stipulates that insurance companies offer birth control pills and other forms of pregnancy prevention at no cost to policy-holders, violates his First Amendment right to religious freedom.”

Economist: Obamacare Will Cost 4 Million Jobs

“A contraction of 3% means big job losses. About 4 million jobs, to be precise. This would, of course, end up added to the current jobs deficit of more than 8 million, according to the Economic Policy Institute. Obamacare, meanwhile, purports to enable access to insurance coverage to tens of millions of new people. ‘What we are describing is a huge increase in the demand for care,’ says Goodman. ‘But the Affordable Care Act does nothing to increase supply. This is virtually guaranteed to put upward pressure on prices. To the extent that prices are prevented from rising, it will create enhanced rationing by waiting.'”

In 2011, the HHS announced $224 million will be given to support evidence-based home visiting programs to ‘help parents and children.'”

The dispute stemmed from the parents’ desire to obtain a second medical opinion before subjecting Sammy to major heart surgery.”

To be sure, gun owners have opposed ObamaCare since its inception, given that a national health database could be used by federal bureaucrats to disarm millions of law-abiding Americans.  The use of medical data has already been used to disarm gun owners in New York — and has led to more than 150,000 military veterans losing their gun rights for ailments such as PTSD. Well now, Congress has a wonderful opportunity to do away with this law.”
